Looks like you’ve been over filling it with logs, there’s no way the ash should be all over the place like you have it and likely reason why the ash shaker doesn’t work.

One February we had a few elk in the garden come to munch on the dead stalks. I live in Colorado near the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.

Love hellebores as they thrive, rabbits, deer or whatever. I only buy the upward facing flowers now, as they make such a pretty picture under a tree. Expensive but worth it.

I love these flowers; along with poppies they rate as my favourites but try as I might I never have had much success when I have tried to grow them. I put them in a flowerbed but I was told they don't like well cultivated soil. Could you suggest how I could prepare the ground in order to grow them. Thank you very much.

I've managed to eliminate the ants on our lemon tree and since doing so, I'm sure the scale insects are not multiplying so prolifically. I filled a large dish with water, then made an 'island' in the middle with an upturned plant saucer. The lemon tree is standing on the island, proud of the water. Within a week, no more ants.. I turn the lemon a quarter turn daily and squash the scales at coffee time! Only found a few scales today.

Great video. I just picked uo a couple feom a garden sale in the sale section. How well do they overwinter because I lost one that I planted last year during the winter. Additional care that needs to be taken to stop them from dying over winter?

Yeah, from what i have researched, it's just the crabs moulting as the sea temperature is about 15c, and thats the temperature they like to shed and get a new exoskeleton at.

Most probably, crab molts, not actual dead crabs, its spring / early summer in the northern hemisphere, so most crabs are molting. If the back opens with no meat inside its probably just a molt.....
